Pathway Overview

This specialised pathway is designed for students who wish to develop teaching and leadership skills within dance and performing arts education, while continuing to train as performers.

  • Ideal for students who want to develop teaching expertise alongside continued performance training. Students can enter at Level 3 or Level 4.

  • Intensive, vocational training in:

    • Acting

    • Singing

    • Ballet

    • Jazz

    • Tap

    • Hip Hop

    • Commercial

    • Musical Theatre

    • Pas de Deux

    • and essential performance skills.

  • Education & Teaching Practice

    Specialist theory and applied learning focused on planning, delivering and evaluating teaching within dance and performing arts contexts. Students complete one of the following qualifications, depending on entry level and progression:

    • Level 3: TQUK Level 3 Award in Education and Training

    • Level 4: TQUK Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training

    Students combine ongoing practical performance with teaching-focused theoretical study, allowing them to develop pedagogical skills while maintaining performance excellence.

  • Level 3 Award in Education and Training

    • Unit 1: Roles, Responsibilities and Relationships in Education and Training

    • Unit 2: Understanding and using inclusive learning and teaching approaches in education and training

    • Unit 3: Understanding assessment in education and training

    Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training

    • Unit 1: Roles, Responsibilities and Relationships in Education and Training

    • Unit 2: Planning to meet the needs of learners in Education and Training

    • Unit 3: Delivering Education and Training

    • Unit 4: Assessing Learners in Education and Training

    • Unit 5: Using Resources

    • Unit 6: Developing, using and organising resources in a specialist area

  • Students benefit from:

  • Graduates can pursue:

    • Teaching roles in schools, colleges, and community arts

  • Training Fees

    Our training fees for our full-time courses are priced at £7,500/per year. When accepting an offer to Platinum Academy, we will also require a non-refundable payment of £270 to cover the Qualification Cost - this also secures your place.

    Funding and scholarships

    Platinum Academy is an independent performing arts academy and recognise the lack of funding options available. We aim to bring together performers of all backgrounds, despite their financial circumstances. Scholarships awards are limited and are offered at the discretion of the audition panel and Senior Leadership Team. Scholarship awards can also vary in value.
