Jessica De Souza

Teacher of Ballet

Beginning her dance training at a young age under the guidance of her mother, a former Principal Ballerina, Jessica was accepted at age eleven into Tring Park School for the Performing Arts on a full-time scholarship. She went on to further her classical training with Anna Du Boisson and, at sixteen, commenced a degree at the Central School of Ballet in London, where she also began teaching across a range of styles, specialising in classical ballet.

Whilst training she was selected to perform principal roles in a national tour featuring works by Cathy Marston, Mikaela Polley, Mthuthuzeli November, and Ashley Page OBE. Professional experience includes guest performances with English National Ballet at the London Coliseum, contemporary work with Yorke Dance Project at the Royal Opera House, and international gala appearances in Hong Kong and beyond.

Jessica graduated from the Central School of Ballet with a BA (Hons) First Class Degree in Professional Dance and Performance. Following graduation, she was invited to work with Sir Matthew Bourne’s company, New Adventures, in their “Swan School” program.

Now focusing on teaching, she delivers classes in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, and Fitness across London and Hertfordshire, working with students from age two through to adults. Alongside her teaching, she is completing a Postgraduate Diploma and Master’s in Counselling and Psychotherapy, with the long-term goal of supporting dancers’ mental health and wellbeing.
